This article is reassuring!!!!! When my son turned 1 year old, his pediatrician informed me that terrible two's do not begin when the child turns 2, they start at the second year of life which is one. I felt like a switch flipped as soon as he turned one. It has been a struggle but it hasn't been unbearable. I just hope I lose a lot of weight as I'm going back and forth, chasing him around. LOL. A few weeks back, he did not want to get in his high chair, he had a fit. So I laid him down on the ground and I walked away. Not even 5 seconds later, he came to where I was and then tried to fall out again. I walked away and I ignored him. Ever since, I have NOT had any issues getting putting him in his high chair.

wonderfully written article. Agree with all of your points. It's important to remember that children are just learning how to cope-up with tantrums. Otherwise even grown-ups throw tantrums too.
